Powerhouse Gym of Brewster is a full-service, 24/7 athletic club serving Putnam County and the surrounding area. Our members have access to state-of-the-art equipment, group fitness classes, an athletic training center, nationally certified personal trainers, infrared saunas and cold plunge, and an on-site nutrition shake bar and supplement shop. Our mission is simple: be the best part of our members’ day, every day.

The front desk is where that starts. You are the first person our members see when they walk in and the last one they see on the way out.

What You’ll Do

• Sales. You are expected to actively sell supplements and apparel — not stand behind the counter and wait. Know the products, recommend them, and ask for the sale.
• Tours. Every new member gets a full tour. Every single one. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
• Member service. Greet members by name, check them in, answer the phones, and handle membership sign-ups, payments, and account changes. Serve the shake bar.
• Gym cleanliness. The floor, the equipment, the mirrors, the bathrooms — spotless. If you walk past something dirty, you own it.
• Locker rooms. Checked and cleaned throughout every shift. No exceptions.
• Equipment. Every dumbbell, plate, bar, and attachment racked in its correct place. Machines wiped down. The floor should look professional at all times, not just at close.
• Gym store. Clothing folded and displayed properly. Supplements faced, organized, and stocked. It should look like a retail store, because it is one.
• Everything else. Enforce gym policies courteously and consistently, and support the trainers and staff with day-to-day operations.

What We’re Looking For

• 18 years of age or older
• Not currently enrolled in high school
• Seeking long-term, year-round employment — this is not a summer or temporary position, and we are not hiring candidates who plan to leave in a few months
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during quieter shifts
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable talking to people all day
• Comfortable approaching members, recommending products, and asking for the sale
• Willing to clean — this role includes hands-on cleaning of bathrooms, locker rooms, and equipment on every shift, not just at closing
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn our membership software
• Reliable transportation to Brewster
• Available to work a consistent weekly schedule, including [evenings/weekends / early mornings]

Nice to Have

• Previous customer service, retail, or front desk experience
• Familiarity with gyms, fitness, or athletics
• Sales experience
• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
